Richard Blackford, PhD, has been helping people navigate life’s challenges for more than 30 years. He earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, an APA‑approved program, and completed two APA‑approved internships—including serving as chief intern at the West Los Angeles VA/UCLA Medical Center. He also trained and conducted research at USC Medical Center. Dr. Blackford is licensed in both California and Pennsylvania and has been in practice since 1989.

Many clients return to share how therapy has shaped their lives, and some come back from time to time to refresh what they’ve learned and continue growing.
Dr. Blackford also brings deep experience in medication management. He works closely with clients and their physicians to sort through side effects, interactions, and other medication‑related concerns, and he may suggest alternatives when needed.
Alongside his clinical training, Dr. Blackford holds a seminary degree and enjoys supporting clients who want to explore their spiritual development. Over the years, he has published and presented in a variety of professional settings.
